Re-Entry Specialist/Coordinator

Re-Entry Specialist/Coordinator

Community Connections' “Re-Entry, Doing It Right” program is a grant-funded project through DC’s Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) and a part of CC’s Justice and Forensic Services. The program’s goal is to provide services to incarcerated citizens as they attempt to reintegrate to the community upon their release. These services are provided both at the local jails while incarcerated and in the community once they are released.

Duties include (but are not be limited to): Accepting referrals from DOC/BOP/ULS, visiting the individual at the jail (CDF and CTF), planning for the person’s release, meeting the individual on the day of release, and following the individual in the community until they connect with a provider (may or may not become a Community Connections’ consumer). Some courtroom testimony is required. Inmates will occasionally be directly released to the staff person in the process of community placement. Track and report necessary information and data required by the grant project through the ETO website.  Participate in grant-mandated trainings and meetings. Additional responsibilities include cultivating evidence-based practices which support the reduction of recidivism and active collaboration with relevant external stakeholders (DOC, CSOSA, other service providers).

Qualifications: The position requires an MA, with DC Social Work or Professional Counseling licensure preferred.  Those applicants with an MSW or an MA in Counseling must have a DC graduate professional license in hand (LGSW or LGPC) before they can commence employment. We offer supervision towards independent clinical licensure.

Supervisory Relationships: None

Note: Candidates must have a reliable personal vehicle and clean driving record as most of the work is done in the community and involves transporting program participants.
