Clinical Housing Manager

Community Connections, Inc was founded in Washington DC in 1984 by Helen Bergman, MSW and Maxine Harris, PhD. We started with a mission of promoting recovery with people who are living with mental illness. As Community Connections grew, these two visionaries sought to also support consumers cope with addictions, find housing, and recover from the impacts of trauma and violent victimization. Starting with the belief that people grow, develop, and evolve into their unique selves in the presence of other people, the Recovery Community program is a Community Connection’s supportive housing program that seeks to create intentional, safe, relationship-centered communities for residents.  The Recovery Community clinical housing staff work with residents who live independently in a variety of building styles including shared houses or congregate apartments. In these communities and with the support of clinical housing staff, residents enhance healthy relationships, become active participants in a supportive community, and develop the ability to heal from the impacts of mental illness, trauma, substance abuse, homelessness, discrimination, and poverty. The team also serves some consumers living in scattered site arrangements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Housing Manager provides clinical consultation and coordinates community-based interventions. The Clinical Housing Manager delivers direct services, facilitates groups with residents in the designated Recovery Communities and promotes cross-teaming efforts to assist residents with establishing and maintaining housing and income stability and enhance overall wellness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Clinical Housing Manager provides clinical consultation and coordinates community-based interventions.
  • The Clinical Housing Manager delivers direct services, facilitates groups with residents in the designated Recovery Communities and promotes cross-teaming efforts to assist residents with establishing and maintaining housing and income stability and enhance overall wellness.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Master’s degree in social work required
  • Actively licensed as a LICSW in DC
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with adults who have experienced serious mental illness, addiction, complex trauma, and/or homelessness required
  • Demonstrated strong collaboration skills and working in team environment
  • Experience working in community-based services and providing crisis response
  • Strong clinical and administrative skills including sound documentation and organizational practices
