The CABHI Program (Cooperative Agreement to Benefit Homeless Individuals) serves vulnerable men and women in the District experiencing homelessness, and is funded by a contract with the Department of Behavioral Health under a grant from SAMHSA’s Cooperative Agreements to Benefit Homeless Individuals. Members of the CABHI team use a housing first approach and trauma informed practices to build trust and collaborative relationships. The PSH (Permanent Supportive Housing) Specialist/Outreach specialist functions as part of a team to deliver outreach, inreach, assessment, housing navigation, and follow up housing stabilization services to persons experiencing homelessness or housed within a 6 month period. BA degree preferred but not required, as is experience working with homeless individuals. Additionally, having a car is helpful but not required. Most work is done in the community.
