Ticket to Work Program
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is part of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999, and a key component of President Bush's New Freedom Initiative. The goal of the program is to give people who receive SSI as a result of a disability the chance to achieve long-term employment by providing them greater choices and opportunities to go to work. The program removes barriers that made the choice to work difficult and removes the need to choose between healthcare and work.
Community Connections recently became an Employment Network under
the new ticket to Work Program. Our supported employment team will
work with individuals who have vouchers to find jobs and support them
in the competitive work environment. For more information, contact
Jack Kline, Jkline@ccdc1.org.
