TREM Questions and Answers

Q: We are having trouble with some of the vocabulary and phrasing of questions in the TREM manual. How much license can I take in changing some of the discussion questions?

A: As you are pointing out, it's important to be sensitive to the educational background and vocabulary of the women in your group. Leaders should be prepared to rephrase questions and to explain some terms which may be unfamiliar to group members. For example, the word and concept of "reciprocity" used in Topic 8: Intimacy and Trust, may be new to some women.
