Wanda Russell Retires
We would like to announce the retirement of our Human
Resources Director, Wanda Russell. Wanda gave Community Connections over 17
years of service. She started as the Human Resources Coordinator and was a department
of 1 but collaborated with other members of Community Connections and assisted
in the growing of her department. Wanda started out as a team of one and ended
with a team of four. When asked about her favorite part of working for
Community Connections she stated that there were several reasons why she loved
this job. What was she said was the most memorable was that she could use her
talents in many ways and could be involved in more than just human resources.
She said she felt appreciated that her talents and skills were recognized to be
used for different projects throughout the agency. Wanda was a part of the
Leadership Committee, Social Media Team and the Administrative All Minds Matter
Committee. She says what she will miss the most are the people who she built
relationships with and serving our consumers. Wanda stated that the skills she
learned at Community Connections will help her on her next journey. As we have
seen, Wanda has a passion for giving back and she wants to take that passion
global. Wanda is embarking on a mission trip to Puerto Rico to bring supplies
to families that are still struggling after the hurricane and to the population
that lives in a more mountainous region that has limited access to supplies.
Her primary goal is to continue doing mission work and continually improve her
skills to effectively serve many more nations in need. Wanda will be missed at
the agency but we encourage her as she continues to give back.
