Research

Community Connections is committed to providing the most helpful array of services for the people we serve. We have always valued the contributions research and program evaluation can make in assessing the effectiveness of programs developed and offered by the agency. For nearly twenty years, we have given formal research and evaluation efforts a central position in our work. Our projects have focused on concerns voiced by consumers and clinicians at Community Connections. They have furthered both the translation of "services to science" and the application of "science to service." Working with research partners from the Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center, the University of Maryland Department of Psychiatry, and Policy Research Associates, we have conducted Federally-funded projects in the following areas (click for more information):

• Trauma and Trauma Recovery (including the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model or TREM and Men’s TREM)
• Services for Homeless Individuals (including an initiative for those involved with the criminal justice system and one "creating communities" for those experiencing chronic homelessness)
• Mental Health Services for Women with HIV
• Services for Individuals with Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
• Supported Employment
• Spirituality
• West Program
